Rainbow Factory, the module
Would someone like to help write an adventure module? System independent would be fine; current players are in Pathfinder, and I tried this once in Pony Tails (Not the one that shows up in a _brief_ google search – the older, better, unrelated one).
I'm wanting a little bit of Call of Cthulhu feel, or Fallout3 where no decision actually makes you happy or feel satisfied. And to make this available to non-pegasus players, I want five well-hidden/forgotten items that have to be brought together to replace the rainbow factory.
The one time I tried this with my 3.5DnD group, they (well, That Guy) assumed that since his personal headcanon (that one good cop in the midst of a corrupt higher system was, in fact, the only corrupt cop) was wrong, there was therefore no logic in this world and screaming about it in front of other players was the only solution. Bleh.
For those not familiar with the MLP fanfic idea behind 'rainbow factory', here's a short version: (Hey I can shortcut since you're familiar with the lore!)
NMM incident, "Both sun, AND moon" Celly doesn't have time so she contracts out good weather. Specifically rainbows, which could not be manufactured without magic.
Enter the pegasus device – it takes recently healthy ponies, preferably with all their bones crushed, and extracts pigments suitable for painting into the sky.
In order to fuel the device, high-school dropouts were "exiled" and political machinations put into play to hold them as reviled failures. The foals didn't arrive at the penal colony because there isn't one; there is only the upper floor of the rainbow factory.)
My campaign would introduce to the players a small, nomadic group of loosely cooperative citystates in the sky comprised solely of escaped failures. Because they never made it into the penal colony (Remember, nopony has ever gotten out alive) they don't know why they were declared enemies of the crown for failing flight-school finals, but this is their lPost too long.
