Been thinking about steroids.

Why? I have a friend who usually cycles them and seems to only get benefits, ending the cycles kind off sucks but when he does the hormonal replacement properly he doesn't seem to suffer much.

Great results, but I'm not sure how it might be bad in the long term. I've always opposed that kind of shit, but seeing it go so well for him made me wonder.

Is truly healthy use of steroids actually possible?

But not 100% sure I'll do it, just considering it and researching about it (quite the interesting topic, many stories and much science involved).

Btw in these last two months I've lost fat and got plenty of strength and cardio back. If I keep continuing my progress, slow but steady, I might not feel the need to cycle (even if the curiosity might still make me wonder).

I'm looking for advice about what exercise should I do. I know that if I start doing retarded amount of some exercise its more certain that I'd fuck my self up than lose weight. So what exercises should I do to get a good foundation while loosing weight? I weight around 160 kg, not sure how much exactly since my home scale goes up to 153 and after that is says error.

I've bean doing squats, sit-ups and dem lame push-ups against a wall cuz I'm too week to do a proper one. What other exercises should I do?

First of all, you don't have to lower your triceps parallel to the floor when you do a pushup, just go down until it feels like you're doing something right, keep doing pushups from time to time and workout your triceps any other way you can and you'll be able to do a hundred pushups the 'right' way no fucking sweat, including all the variants that await you down the road.

Second of all, you work your compound movements first, then you do isolations. Next, you try and work your largest muscles first then your smaller muscles. And machines come after free-weight and body-weight exercises - these are the three rules you should know before you ever start. You don't have to follow them every time, as you won't always work out the whole body in one day - you might have arms or legs day. Stretch from top to bottom or bottom to top - this isn't all mandatory but it is basic principle.

Don't go lifting heavy shit you can't lift enough times to actually break a sweat or you're just going to tire out your muscles before you've even started, don't feel self-conscious about lifting something lighter than what those fucking Chad's are lifting. Buy yourself some dumbbells, you can find a 40lb set at Walmart for no more than $20 - do full body workouts, do some shadow-boxing or in-place cardio and exercises like squats and pushups, planks and crunches, you name it. Try and get out more, just walking to the store and back, or to wherever and back, walk around stores more often looking for the best prices, carry groceries instead of using a shopping cart. Every little bit helps. Proper form and a healthy understanding of basic nutrition and body chemistry is a must. Lift correctly, move correctly, run correctly, or risk it all before you even start. You're going to start seeing people wearing braces and knee wraps all over the damn place - this is a sign of improper form more so than over-working - consider compression sleeves if you think form is a hard thing to grasp

I'll post what I've got (but you should already be scanning the stickies and QTDDTOT's for more info).

I've been lifting for a few months and I've got noticeable gains, but some of my gains are only noticeable from certain directions.

For example, my upper arms look a lot bigger from the side, but from head-on they look no different from when I started lifting. My forearms are the same. They look noticeably different from the side, but from head-on they're tiny.

Am I doing something wrong, or is it genetic, or will it get better after I've lifted longer?

It's because you aren't exercising all the muscles of the forearm. [1] You can't do only the big compound lifts and expect complete forearm development. You'll get a strong grip and some wrist flexor development from the popular lifts, but if you aren't already doing a varied forearm routine or doing something creative or esoteric, you should probably do reverse curls, preferably with a curl bar, at a minimum. [2] If you want to be Popeye or go beyond the bare minimum, you probably need to do around 2-4 additional types of forearm exercises or more to round everything out. [3] Forearms aren't free.

I suspect the reasons that there isn't much discussion about this sort of thing are that in depth forearm training is barely useful to most athletes and a lot of body builders buy into the idea that it subtracts from their visual appeal by making the upper arms look smaller by comparison.

Also, how big are "average" forearms in terms of circumference? Mine are 12" cold and unflexed (I measured on an off day, so they weren't pumped).

I'm not saying I agree with extremely minimal forearm training aesthetically, but bodybuilders are concerned with proportions, illusions of good proportions, and judging criteria. Some want to create a visual illusion of bigger upper arms by avoiding overly developed forearms. If I recall correctly, I believe it was around the 1950s that they would go out of their way to avoid glute development because of the specifics of judging criteria in competitions. Obviously having anything out of proportion looks weird in everyday life, but bodybuilders have less real life concerns than average joes and athletes will subscribe only to the most useful exercises.



Also, do you have any suggestions for exercises for the upper arms?
